1. Data controller
PickClue (pickclue.com) is operated by Keenvo Tech OÜ, registered in Estonia (17457927), Kotkapoja tn 2a-10, 10615 Tallinn, Estonia. Keenvo Tech OÜ is the data controller responsible for your personal data under applicable data protection laws (including the GDPR and the LGPD). Advertising, traffic acquisition, and monetization services are provided by ActiveView OÜ, registered in Estonia (16639782), Kotkapoja tn 2a-10, Tallinn 10615, Harju, Estonia. You can reach the controller at support@keenvotech.com.
2. What we collect
You can read PickClue without an account. Some of our tools let you add an optional account by entering your email address (to receive a result, alerts, or a sign-in code) or by signing in with Google. In that case we store your email address and, with Google sign-in, the name on your Google profile. We send marketing emails only if you agree, and every alert or marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
When you use a tool, we store what you enter so it works: for example quiz answers, a ZIP code to find adoptable pets near you, saved searches, and the channels you choose for alerts. We use a ZIP code only to find nearby pets and match alerts, and we never share it with advertising partners. On pages that show ads, ad partners receive the page address, which can identify the listing you are viewing or an option you picked before arriving.
If you contact us through the support form, we collect the email address and message you send so we can reply.
We collect basic usage telemetry (page views, clicks, approximate country, device type) to understand which guides and tools are useful and to improve the site.
3. How we use it
We use your data to provide and operate PickClue, deliver the alerts and emails you opt into, process payments, measure conversion, run product experiments (A/B tests), and improve the product. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
4. Third-party services
Authentication and data storage are handled by Supabase. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never store your card number, CVC, or full card details, only a Stripe customer ID. Hosting is provided by Vercel. Transactional email is delivered through Resend. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from your Google profile.
5. Adoptable-pet listings
Some tools show adoptable-pet listings provided by partner organizations, such as RescueGroups.org, on behalf of shelters and rescues. When you open a listing's page, your browser may load a small tracking image from that partner so the rescue can count how often its listing is viewed; like any web request, it receives your IP address and browser details. When you contact a rescue, you deal with it directly and its own policies apply.
6. Advertising
Free accounts may be shown ads served through Google’s ad network (Google Ad Manager) and certified ad partners. These third-party vendors use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Opting out disables interest-based targeting only; you may still see non-personalized, contextual ads. Paid subscribers are not shown ads.
You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google My Ad Center or aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from partner sites.
7. Sponsored videos and ad measurement
Some tools let you choose to watch a short sponsored video to unlock an extra feature. We record that the video was completed, with an anonymous visitor id, to grant the unlock and, where a tool has them, apply daily limits. We may also tell our ad platforms (for example, Meta), whether or not you arrived from an ad, that an action such as a sign-up, a purchase or a completed sponsored video happened, so we can measure our campaigns. These reports can include a hashed email address, a hashed anonymous visitor id, your IP address and browser details; they never include your ZIP code, quiz answers, or the pets you view.
8. Affiliate links
Some links to third-party products or services on PickClue are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We only surface options we believe fit your needs, and commissions never change our editorial picks or the substance of our guidance. Affiliate links are marked where they appear.
9. Push notifications
If you enable push notifications, we store your browser push subscription endpoint to deliver the alerts you opted into. You can disable push at any time from your browser settings or your account page.
10. Paid plans
Some tools offer optional paid plans. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number. We store the plan, its status, and the identifiers Stripe sends us so we know your access is active.
12. Data retention
Support messages are retained while we resolve your request and for a reasonable period afterward. If you use a tool with an optional account, your email, saved searches, and preferences are kept while you use it; you can delete them from the tool's account page, where it has one, or by writing to support@keenvotech.com, and we complete the deletion within 30 days, except for billing records we must keep for accounting. Receiving a sign-in code or buying a plan also creates a sign-in record with your email address in the sign-in system we share across our tools; a tool's account page does not remove it, and it stays until you ask support@keenvotech.com to remove it. Anonymized analytics events may be kept longer for aggregate reporting.
13. Your rights
You can access, update, or delete your account at any time from the app, or request a data export or deletion by emailing support@keenvotech.com. Depending on where you live, the following data protection laws grant you additional rights:
GDPR (European Union, EEA & United Kingdom)
General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679) and UK GDPR
We process your personal data on the legal bases of contract performance (providing the service you signed up for), consent (push notifications, marketing emails), and legitimate interest (security, product analytics). You have the right to access, rectify, erase, and receive a portable copy of your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
LGPD (Brazil)
Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (Law No. 13,709/2018)
You have the right to confirmation that we process your data, access to it, correction of incomplete or outdated data, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, portability to another provider, information about who we share data with, and revocation of consent. Requests are handled by the data controller identified above. You may also file a complaint with the ANPD (Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados).
CCPA/CPRA (California, United States)
California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, to request its deletion or correction, to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do not sell personal information), to limit use of sensitive personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
14. Children's privacy
PickClue is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
15. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and database row-level security. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of PickClue after changes constitutes acceptance.
